His Excellency Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III visited the facilities of Alliance Mansols Inc. on May 1, 2014 in celebration of Labor Day with the program dubbed as “The President’s Visit to the Semiconductor and Electronics Companies in Laguna.”
The President spent almost an hour inspecting the training and production facilities of AMI together with his entourage consisting of DTI Secretary Gregory Domingo, TESDA Director General Joel Villanueva, DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz, NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, PEZA Director General Lilia de Lima, Laguna Gov. ER Ejercito, among others. The President was also assisted by SEIPI President Dan Lachica and key TESDA officials. He was received by key EMS Group officials headed by Chairman Francisco I. Ferrer, President Perry A. Ferrer, Ms. Ellen J. Ferrer, Ms. Veronica Adriano and Mr. Francisco Adriano III. EMS President Mr. Perry Ferrer and AMI General Manager Eric Quiogue led the management team in presenting the implementation of the skills development of the TESDA scholars through the 80-hour intensive training and their preparation for employment in the industry.
The President was impressed with the facilities of AMI as he witnessed TESDA scholars use the workshop areas for their basic computer training, soldering, inspection and screwing activities.
TESDA’s Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP), through AMI, has produced 2,953 graduates with a recorded 85% employment rate as mentioned during the President’s last State of the Nation Address (SONA). For this year, TESDA and SEIPI have allocated additional 3,500 vouchers to AMI in continuation of the training program.
The President’s visit has defined the key role of AMI in the training of electronic production operation workforce not only in Laguna but also in the other parts of the country. AMI continues to adhere to its commitment in improving the skills of the youth for their employment.
